In case you weren’t aware, the East Coast got its ass handed to it by Nemo this weekend.  My entire family got stuck otherwhere (mom at the airport as part of an emergency response team, my sister at the EMS emergency shelter in one of the towns she works for, and my dad at work just because nobody would let him drive home even though he totally wanted to) so Saturday was spent by me shoveling out where I could, with the full haul getting attacked Saturday night and Sunday.  Like all of Sunday.  Everyone in my house was shuffling around like snow-zombies by the time we all finally got in, just because it was so cold and we were so sore from throwing two feet of snow.

Anyway.

Today it’s just raining and gross, which isn’t helping the feeling of impending winter doom that’s been a result of the massive amounts of snowfall and the huge snowmountains that seem to have cropped up everywhere.  Personally, I’m longing for warmer climes.  Summer.  Sweet tea.

Barbecue.

I’m solving this stupid snowpocalypse problem right here, right now.  And I’m making North Carolina pulled pork sandwiches with cole slaw and hush puppies.  And I’m going to drink a nice cold beer and close my eyes and pretend I’m south of the Mason-Dixon.

. . . written hours later, after the dreams sort of fell apart

Dinner got delayed.  Sister had a call, dad was working late, hush puppies got cancelled.  And I was too tired (SO TIRED) to photograph my pork.

Whoops.

I may be the worst food blogger ever this week.

We’ll work on that, I promise.
